Colleen Critcher, a visual artist, is fascinated by commodity culture, kitsch, and plastic things. Her artworks obsessively explore images of mystical garden gnomes, unicorns, and dinosaur figures, investigating the powerful significance of seemingly menial images in contemporary life. With an M.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Colleen has a decade of experience in university teaching and gallery administration. Currently based in Florence, South Carolina, she maintains a painting and printmaking studio, and her work is exhibited and collected globally.
