Martin Barraud's creative journey began by forming a photography club at school, which led to his enrollment in the esteemed Salisbury College of Art's photography course. He then assisted prominent advertising photographers in London, including the renowned Pete Seaward.

Throughout his career, Barraud has been deeply influenced by abstract and conceptual artists such as Dali and, particularly, Magritte. Pete Seaward, one of the UK's most respected special-effects photographers, significantly impacted Barraud by showing him that it was acceptable to think differently and embrace creative riddles.

As Barraud transitioned into the London advertising photography scene as a freelancer, he seized commercial opportunities, most notably contributing to the iconic Investec Bank campaign featuring zebras. His work in high-end commissions within the aviation industry has taken him to remarkable locations across the USA.

Barraud has evolved into a multidisciplinary artist, receiving commissions for installation art, including the notable Prostate Cancer UK Memorial, which is now touring the UK. His ‘Prism’ photographs were featured in three exhibitions in 2023, both national and international. The process of creating these photographs, using pure sunlight, combined his love for photography and installation art in a profoundly joyous experience.
